Update May 1st.

Good Evening Everyone,

I hope you are all doing well, and I am sure the announcement by the Doug Ford government has gotten a few of you excited. If you haven’t heard the news, the Provincial Government announced today that starting Monday May 4, 2020 that Marinas can start to prepare to open.

“Marinas may also begin preparations for the recreational boating season by servicing boats and other watercraft and placing boats in the water, but not open to the public. Boats and watercraft must be secured to a dock in the marina until public access is allowed. “What does this mean to Macassa Bay Yacht Club? It means that there is light at the end of the tunnel.

As for access to the grounds. The executive will attempt to contact officials asap to determine if boat owners are permitted to enter the property and not considered part of the public. MBYC is unique compared to a marina as it is the work of our members that makes our club run and not paid staff. When the executive receives confirmation we will let everyone know immediately. Your executive will also be having a virtual meeting this weekend as we will have to define the parameters of access when that is granted and the guidelines that we will all have to follow. Please be patient, we are getting real close now.
