MBYC Access Update

Effective March 25, 2020, the Ontario Government ordered all non-essential businesses to close because of the COVID-19 crisis.

As of April 15, 2020 the Provincial Government has extended the state of emergency for an additional 28 days (tentatively until May 12, 2020).

In accordance with this announcement, the MBYC CLUBHOUSE AND COMPOUND WILL CONTINUE TO BE CLOSED to all members and guests until further notice. The MBYC property will only be permissible to enter by the executive to perform security checks, required maintenance and necessary administrative tasks that can only be performed on site. They will also be checking on the boats presently in the water daily. If you have any concerns please contact us.

On occasion some of the maintenance tasks will require a work party of not more then 5 persons under the direction of one of our Executive Directors. This director will have a list on hand of all parties and be present on site to ensure of upholding all COVID-19 distancing guidelines. There will be no work permitted on any boat ( unless deemed an emergency ) during this time.

We cordially remind members that are entering the club property for these activities (and all members outside of the club) to always adhere to COVID-19 health and safety protocols, especially since we have no way of ensuring surfaces are sanitized.

This order will be in effect until the Ontario Government will allow us to reopen.

Your MBYC Executive will try and get permission for boat owners to access the yard and will update if and when that access will be permissible. We will continue to work for our members and will endeavour to keep all members informed as much as possible as we all face this pandemic.

We must all do our part in this fast-changing situation. Please stay safe.
